process: Acrylic paint speckled the background, creating swirls, resembling splashing waves. Ciara crafted the seaweed technique, for collages, 2025 and onwards, where wavy strips are cut out of painted papers. One edge is either kept as, or cut to have, one straight edge. These edges are glued onto borders of the A3 paper, providing strength, and at the same time, building a lineup of flaming waves. Drawing studies of a flower and coral, made during visits to a botanical museum, were cut and glued, alongside more seaweed strips and leaves. The leaves were selected from a surplus of handmade, color sorted, collage material, to match and surround the various strips.
