process: This collage was made in 3 days, in late December 2025. Contrary to the technique of painting paper to cut and create colorful sources for the collage, here, an existing sketchbook artwork of flowers from 2021 served as the three wildflowers themselves. The background, an acrylic marker drawing from the summer of 2022, set the scene. This greatly altered the collage making process, as only one artwork for the background meant prioritizing the preservation of papers. None of the scrap pieces were binned until every last white corner was covered. Some sections of the artwork are similar to the previously drawn background, as a bigger area was preserved, instead of hundreds of tiny leaves glued down. There was less layering, a more conscious approach of choosing where to glue, so every white corner would be engulfed.
