Bird in Paradise

process: The flower named bird of paradise and the parrot in space jungle resulted in the title: Bird in Paradise. This background was formed on a canvas board, using spray paint cans, a cup, and a brush. Gravity served as a helping hand when strategically dripping spray paint, and tilting the canvas in various directions. Then, outlines of parrot feathers were marked in light green, thick posca pens, followed by the filling in of these segments of feathers, with the colors, green, purple, yellow, and blue. This process was continued later on. Posca pens layered on top of one-another, interconnected segments between the feathers, crafting a parrot, made out of shapes, curves and lines. Flowers were worked into the piece alongside details and patterns, spread out across the 61×91.5cm canvas board. Constructing a parrot’s outline and feather segments resulted in layers of pure creativity and intricacy, every feather and color.
