process: Through the 3 part Kemet series, collages are made of cut images from an Egyptology history book to combat racist assumptions in Egyptology. Kemet means the black land. This African civilization excelled and flourished for thousands of years until 332 bc foreign rule, lasting till the 1950s. Cutouts of the book page were placed on the gold painted canvas board, layered with details and colors made in posca. Kemet and Kush contributed plenty to fields like physics, math, chemistry, medicine, building, agriculture.
