process: Watery iridescent acrylic paints built up the colorful backdrop on canvas, forming a lovely aura that permeates the piece. Blue pen was used to map out a cheetah’s expressive face, shoulders, and spots. As the process continued, more layers of paint were built, forming shapes of color on spots of the sketch, harmonizing the style of the cheetah and background. Sheets of rock minerals found in the Dublin mountain river, were glued on in early stages, inspiring the use of gold colored flakes. Posca pen was used to precisely draw with paint. Among other meanings that can be drawn, Cheetah emanates woman power, solar energy, strength, speed, sovereignty.
