The Alchemist

year of creation: 2022-2023

materials: acrylic paint, marker, varnish, posca pen, glue, gold colored flakes, canvas board

process: The first law of thermodynamics states that energy is neither created nor destroyed, only transformed. The Alchemist was initiated with green acrylic paint, forming a simple mountain and sun. Then came doodles in black marker, targeting all unpainted areas. In the third stage, colors were interwoven with ease, using posca pens. The work was varnished then left unattended for some time. Fast forward, a year later, the work was revamped, energized with intuitive drawing in posca, accompanied by the glueing of gold (colored) flakes. Drawing whilst in nature, produced an alchemist, a man with a beard and helmet, facing to the left side, with the old planet morphing into his shoulder and moon coming from his chest. The two crescent moons above represent balance.
